This 5 step workout is all you need to get a jump start on some hot buns and a 6 pack, whether you are working on those in or out of the gym! Plus, it doesn’t take too long to complete so the holiday madness is no excuse to leave it in the dust!
1. Medicine Ball Rotation
A Start off in a V-sit position while holding a medicine ball in front of you. B Rotate your body left while simultaneously touching the ball to the ground on your right side. C Rotate and touch the ball on the opposite side.
Quantity: 3 rounds of touching the ball to each side 10 times
Note: 5-10 lbs on the ball is a great start!
2. Side Plank with Rotation
A In a side plank, stabilize yourself on a bench. Bring your opposite hand behind your head so that your elbow is pointing outward. B Twist your core in and point your elbow to the bench, then return to A for one rep.
Quantity: 2 sets of 10 reps per side
3. Ball Donkey-Kick
A Rest your feet, shoe laces down, on top of a fitness ball as if you’re going to do an elevated push up. B Using your abdominal muscles, roll the ball toward you bringing your knees to your chest.
Quantity: 3 sets of 10 “kicks”
4. Plank with Leg Lift
A Begin in a traditional plank position, body completely parallel to the ground. B Lift your right leg a few feet from the floor. C Repeat on left side.
Quantity: 3 sets of 10 lefts per side
5. Glute Kick-Back and Side-Kick
A Stabilize your upper body against a wall corner using your forearms, body should be angled into the wall, feet together. B Start on the left side. Kick your foot back first, then together. C Next, kick the same foot out to the side, then back to the middle. Repeat on the right side once you complete the set on your left.
Quantity: 3 sets of 10 per side
