2020 Holiday Gift Guide

The holidays may feel different this year- almost an inconvenience if you ask me (in the least Grinch way possible). However, tis’ the season of giving and little things like decorating your tree, even of you live alone, or sending a friend a little gesture of gratitude can make things feel slightly more normal. Below I’ve lined up some easy items you can send to your family or loved ones, even if you can’t see them in person. Most of these are also Seattle local or can be localized to wherever you’re at. Remember to support small business whenever possible!! They need us more than ever right now ❤

  1. Deco/Rent

Do you know someone still looking to decorate their tree even though all of the stores have been cleared out since November 1st? Send them an early package to decorate! Decorent is a Seattle based small business that allows you to rent your tree decor instead of buying it. Genius, I know! The husband and wife are so sweet and the decor options are stunning. It’s an efficient, green alternative to purchasing your ornaments and the best part is you aren’t locked into a specific aesthetic. IDK about you, but I tend to change up the look and feel of my place all the time, which can get expensive! When you order from Decorent, they ship your package right to your door and pick it back up when you’re finished.

My setup would have easily cost $500+ if I purchased from a big box store. Renting was only $70.

2. Wallaa’s Modern Decor

Another incredible Seattle small business on the rise. When I first met Walaa, she gave me a quote that resonates deeply with me, “Little girls with dreams become women with visions”. That is exactly what she is trying to do, make her vision a reality. She makes custom floral and food arrangements for local delivery in the Greater Seattle Area. Anything from charcuterie boards to these gorgeous flower/chocolate duos. These make a great gift for anyone on your list, or a wonderful addition to your holiday party! To order, send her a DM on Instagram and let her know I sent you!

3. The Plug

Like I said, the holidays are weird this year and chances are we are all over indulging! That’s totally okay, and I am fine admitting it. The Plug is a hangover recovery shot that you take before or while drinking. It’s packed full of nutrients and leaves you recharged and refreshed the next morning. Let me tell you, I put the pedal to the metal testing out if this actually works- and it does! From wine tasting all day in Chelan to a night out with the girls, I never woke up hungover if I drank The Plug. A perfect stocking stuffer for the entire fam-bam, or wrap a case to put under the tree for ‘you know who’ could really benefit from it!

4. Seize The Box

IDK about you, but I love giving gift boxes. A little bit of this, a little bit of that, ya know? Seize The Box is redefining modern gifting by taking the heavy lifting out of creating and sending a custom gift box. You can either choose from a pre-set box or customize your own. Another genius small business- I know the owner, Brittney, personally and absolutely love her. She’s a badass boss babe and I’m so proud of her for starting this company. This is another local Seattle based business, however, you can ship anywhere in the US! If you’re stuck in another state away from your family like I am, this is an incredible option. Below are two boxes I thought were so cute for any guy or gal in your life!

5. Dose & Co

Okay, I was over the moon when Dose & Co selected me to be one of the first to receive a PR package of the newest collagen to hit the market and be backed by Khloe Kardashian. Let me tell you, I am impressed. I’ve tried other collagens before and haven’t found anything I liked. The flavors were always artificial tasting and weird. Nothing ever felt ‘clean’. Well, Dose & Co is super clean AND yum!

I’ve tried the Vanilla Dairy-Free Collagen Creamer, Chocoloate Collagen Protein, and the Unflavored Pure Collagen. I completely love and support all 3.

6. Send a Case of Wine

A couple of weekends ago I went on a little wine tasting trip to Chelan. For those of you who are not local, Chelan is in the Columbia Valley of Washington. The valley is full of cute lush vineyards and delicious wines. During my trip, I realized that due to the Pandemic, they are struggling just as much as restaurants and other hospitality businesses are. So, I got to thinking, why not support a vineyard in your state by purchasing and sending a case of to the wine lover in your life?!

Or, maybe send one to yourself? #guilty 😀

Below is a photo from my favorite vineyard of the trip, Mellisoni Vineyards.

7. Restaurant Gift Cards

Per the last note- the restaurant and hospitality industry is taking a serious hit due to COVID. I’m sure every single person on your list has a favorite restaurant or go-to happy hour spot. Why not purchase a gift card for them to enjoy post-pandemic? They’ll love it, you’ll be giving them a reason to go out and have some fun, and you’ll be supporting an industry in dire need right now! Win, win, win, triple win!

8. Spa Day

Who doesn’t love a great spa day? Personally, I love checking out for a day with some bubbles and no access to my phone. What better gift to give during such a stressful time! I don’t know what the regulations are where you live, but even if spas are shut down it is still a great gift to give for a later date and support your local hospitality industry! If you are in the Greater Seattle Area, the new Le SPA de l’hôtel LOTTE at the Lotte Hotel is unparalleled and they have a package available where you can literally rent out the ENTIRE SPA to yourself! Like What?!!! So romantic and fun!

9. Send a Great Book

My friend Kelly sent me this book about a month ago. Each day there is a different meditation. I like to read it first thing when I wake up and sip my coffee, before getting on social or emails. It has totally re-set my mind and outlook on a lot of things. I will definitely be gifting this to a lot of people this year, I think everyone needs to have it!

Let me know in the comments if you decided to go with one of these ideas! I’d love to know what you think. Happy holidays, lovelies!
